FAQ's About Our Office

Dr. Jin Kim is an experienced periodontist and dental implant surgeon. Dr. Kim and his team have extensive experience in the field and are considered ‘architects’ of the dental world. We offer treatments ranging from non-surgical periodontal therapy to reconstructive surgical procedures.
We encourage patients who have a family history of gum disease to make an appointment with a periodontist. For patients with heart disease or diabetes, it is important to see a periodontist for diagnosis and treatment of gum disease to reduce risk factors. If you notice any symptoms of gum disease, you should come in for an appointment.
You will receive a Welcome Package upon your first visit that provides a brief introduction to our practice and a map to our office. We will review your health history, perform a clinical examination and take 3D images of your mouth and jaw. We will also take time to discuss treatment options and review your specific needs in more detail.
We will provide you with detailed pre-operation instructions that you must follow closely in order to achieve optimal results. We encourage patients to get a good night’s rest before their procedure and to take recommended medications. If you will be undergoing intravenous sedation, you must not eat or drink anything, including water, for six hours before your surgery.
You may be slightly swollen and experience some discomfort after surgery. We recommend eating food that requires minimal chewing, cold food and non-spicy food. Eat small bits at a time so that chewing does not affect the treated area. We can discuss these guidelines in more detail before your surgery.
